A 4 letter word

27 Oct

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

This blog is purely for the sake of me venting.

I’m so frustrated right now.  All I want to do is scream and punch someone!

I’m pissed off at what’s going on but I’m also annoyed at people commenting on it.

If it were that easy, I would have already done it, thanks!

I will blog about the situation when it’s resolved and I’ve calmed down.

There’s a difference between asking someone questions to find out what’s going on and someone throwing their opinion at me.

You know the saying “keep you’re opinion to yourself?”  Well, that’s a good saying.

……that is all……

Thanks for allowing me to share my world with you……welcome to my brain.

A Weekend with a cause…..

2 Oct

This weekend was great! The Moore family got to help out 2 different organizations this weekend.

Locks of Love

Brandn shaved his head this weekend. He does this often. He’s one of those guys that looks good no matter what length his hair is. It drives me crazy because he can have hair past his shoulders and walk out of the shower and do absolutely nothing and have perfect hair. I however; dry mine, style it and use product and I walk around (on a good hair day) looking like a hot mess….anyway.

Locks of Love takes hair and makes wigs for children that don’t have hair due to medical reasons or side effects of medication. To help with this organization all you have to do is put your hair in a ponytail and cut it! The ponytail has to be at least 10 inches and it takes 6-10 ponytails of hair to make 1 wig.

Brandn usually grows his hair and then cuts it right before winter. We call him “Jesus” at church so I think he cut it so we wouldn’t make him play Jesus in our Christmas play….just kidding. We’re not having a Christmas play but it sure was fun to tease him about it. lol  When we cut Danica’s hair last year we donated her hair as well. I’m the only Moore that hasn’t donated yet but I’m currently growing it out and hopefully it won’t be long till I can give them my hair too.

CASA of Travis County

Chantel and I ran in the 5k (3 mile) Superhero Run. The theme for the run is “Every child needs a hero but abused kids need Superheros.” This was one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. People show up to run dressed like superheroes. There were men there in cut of shorts and painted green to be The Hulk. There were guys decked out in full body costumes with the fake muscles, shields and face masks. There were chicks dressed like Wonder Woman, Super Woman and I even saw Rainbow Bright. Kids were in Halloween costumes and there were a ton of really cute home-made costumes as well. It was freezing so my main focus was staying warm, but next year I will rock out the costume!!

CASA takes volunteers and trains them to be advocates for children in our community who’ve been abused or neglected, speaking up for them in the court system and helping them reach a safe and loving home.  CASA asks you spend 20 hours a month with the child they match you up with. Brandn and I would love to be a CASA volunteer but right now we don’t have the time and we don’t want to do something crappy; these children deserve our best.

I fully believe we are called to live a life serving others. There are so many needs out there it can seem so overwhelming just trying to figure out how to help. It’s very easy to get discouraged and think “I’m just one person. How can I make any bit of a difference?” I think the easiest way to help is to research organizations and when you find a cause that speaks to you; find out how you can help them.

That’s what we did.

Seriously, all we did was cut Brandn’s hair and run a few miles. That’s it…easy peasy!!!!!!

Thanks for allowing me to share my world with you…welcome to my brain.
